Guy has worked in the coatings and protective linings industry for most of his working life.
His experience with coatings includes production management, quality control (in the factory and on site), sales & marketing of application services and general management.
Guy’s industry experience is very varied, from the chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries through oil & gas to food and automotive. In each case, it has been about using his extensive coating knowledge to supply a coating solution to solve the client’s problem.
An example would be the specification of a corrosion resistant dry lubrication coating within the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, a short takeoff and vertical landing, multi-role, stealth aircraft flown by the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy.
A second example would be for the automotive industry, where a major OEM needed their body in white carriers coated to stop the build up of e-coat. Guy’s coating choice was the only one that worked - the client tested examples from throughout Europe.
After many years successfully managing two UK coating application companies for an international holding company, most recently as Managing Director, Guy joined Blocksil Limited in April 2018.
His role within Blocksil’s Management structure is to provide the growing company with experienced general management along with overseas growth strategies, thus freeing up Chris to focus on new ideas and technologies.
In May 2020 Guy was interviewed for a podcast for the Leaders Council.
The Leaders Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland brings together the most influential figures from across the country. It celebrates the hard work and achievements of the nation’s unsung leaders, while laying the ground for the next generation.
