Air Cured Fluoropolymers
Gain the benefit of low friction coatings without the need to oven cure
Gain the benefit of low friction coatings without the need to oven cure
Fluoropolymers have many useful properties, but they require heat to cure them. 220oC is the lowest temperature needed for a full cure. In those occasions where heat is not desirable and a cure better than a “flash off” is wanted, then our air cured fluoropolymer is ideal.
A fluoroploymer is a compound that contains a Fluorine atom, such as PTFE. Fluorine has inherently good repellent properties.
Hard Coat is a halogenated synthetic polymer in an organic solvent solution and isocyanate prepolymer coating. It is designed to provide a cross-linked film with low surface energy offering good resistance to dirt and stain pick-up and easy clean properties.
The coating is formulated on materials with a high level of resistance to UV degradation and contains UV absorbers to aid in protecting the overpainted substrate. Performance is dependent upon cross-link density which increases with cure time and / or cure temperature and is considered complete after seven days at an average ambient temperature of 15oC.
Our coating can also be used as a low film build easy clean coating onto previously painted surfaces.
